The Thursday morning working party on 11 September welcomed nine staff members from the Hatfield, Bristol and Leeds offices of EE, the telecommunications company. The EE staff were spending a day in Sherrardspark Wood as part of their corporate volunteering excercise.

In the morning they worked together with the wood wardens clearing felled sycamore trees and building brush bunds. After a well-deserved al fresco lunch, the volunteers were taken on a tour of the woods to look at the features of interest and see the results of woodland management strategies.

The wood wardens and the EE staff all enjoyed the experience of the day and the EE volunteers said that they were very appreciative of the opportunity to help the local community.
