Personal Data and the Wood Wardens' Society

An individual's confidentiality is protected by the Data Protection Act and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations. Personal information supplied to the Wood Wardens' Society ("The Society") by Wardens, volunteers and customers will be kept on file and stored securely; data will be deleted once it is no longer relevant.

Personal Data

Information we hold for Wardens and volunteers may include name, address, post-code, telephone number and e-mail address. This is to enable us to communicate with Wardens and volunteers. We also hold some information about attendance at working parties so that we can direct communications selectively to those for whom they are relevant.

Our website also holds details of members' and volunteers' website user name, membership status, the date of first registration and the date of the last visit to the website. This information is held for website administration only.

We will only hold this information for Wardens and volunteers who have specifically given us their consent.

Information held for customers who purchase logs may include name, address, post-code, telephone number, e-mail address and outline details of their requirements for wood and of specific deliveries. This is to enable us to meet these customers' requirements.

Accessibility

The Society will allow this information to be used only by authorized members, others working on its behalf and as required by law. The Society will not share personal information with third party organisations.

Wardens, volunteers and customers have the right to access a copy of the information we hold about them. They may request us to remove any or all of this information from our records. We will comply with any such request promptly.

Wardens, volunteers and customers can object to the ICO (Information Commissioners Office) if they feel that the Society is not handling their data in a satisfactory manner.
